1. A computer-implemented method for providing anti-aliasing in graphics rendering comprising:
determining, via an anti-aliasing compression module of a graphics processing unit, two or more colors associated with a plurality of color samples of a pixel; determining, via the anti-aliasing compression module, a first color of the two or more colors and a second color of the two or more colors are substantially similar based at least in part on a threshold; merging, via the anti-aliasing compression module, the first color and the second color to form a merged color based at least in part on the determination of substantial similarity of color; and replacing, via the anti-aliasing compression module, the first color and the second color with the merged color thereby providing an anti-aliased graphics rendering.
