1. A network device, comprising:
a memory that stores instructions; and a processor coupled to the memory, wherein responsive to executing the instructions, the processor performs operations comprising:
receiving a first request from a controller to provide status information relating to activities of a plurality of communication devices;detecting a first communication device of the plurality of communication devices engaged in a communication session, wherein the communication session comprises one of a video game session or an online communications session;providing, to the controller, activity information associated with the communication session to enable the controller to present the activity information;receiving a second request from the controller to initiate communications between the controller and the first communication device responsive to the activity information not conforming to a parental control rule;facilitating an exchange of messages between the controller and the first communication device responsive to the second request, wherein the facilitating comprises locking the communication session of the first communications device during the exchange of messages;receiving a command from the controller to un-lock the first communication device responsive to the controller receiving a first response, that is determined to be a satisfactory response, from the first communication device;receiving a third request from the controller to transfer control of the first communication device to the controller responsive to the controller receiving a second response, that is determined to be an unsatisfactory response, from the first communication device during the exchange of messages; andreceiving control information from the controller to adjust an operational aspect of the first communication device.
