Disclosed are a system for driving a network camera, and a method for driving the same. The system of the present invention comprises: a booting unit provided with power from a network video recorder (NVR) to boot a camera connected to the NVR; an IP setting unit allocated with an IP from the NVR, and setting the IP as an IP of the camera; an ID setting unit for confirming a manufacturer of the camera through the NVR, allocated with the ID from the NVR according to the manufacturer, and setting the ID as an ID of the camera; and a connection unit for connecting the camera to a network by using the ID.
