The present invention relates to a head mounted display (HMD) and a method for providing video contents using the same. To be specific, the present invention relates to an HMD and a method for providing video contents using the same in order to provide a user wearing an HMD with realistic video contents. For this, the present invention provides a head mounted display (HMD) comprises: a processor for controlling the operation of an HMD; a sensor unit for detecting the orientation information of said HMD and transmitting the detected orientation information to said processor; and a display unit for outputting an image based on the command of said processor, wherein said processor obtains video contents, obtains the orientation information of said HMD by using a sensor unit, displays said video contents on a display unit based on the obtained orientation information, obtains the relative distance information between at least one virtual object included in said video contents and said HMD, and provides said HMD with feedback in case when said virtual object and said HMD collide. |
