Disclosed are a method for directly controlling a network camera with a client through a relay apparatus, and the relay apparatus. The method of the present invention comprises the following steps: receiving an integrated command from a client; extracting a control command of a relay apparatus from an integrated control command and determining attributes thereof; and then transferring the control command of a camera separated from the integrated control command to a network camera which is to be directly controlled. According to the present invention, dependency of a conventional relay apparatus, in which the relay apparatus should be updated to reflect a changed item of the client, can be removed even if a command issued to the network camera from the client is changed since the control command of the camera is only separated from the integrated control command, but does not pass through a separate treatment process to be transferred to the network camera. |
