Embodiments of the present invention relate to an apparatus for calculating a correction factor and a method thereof. The apparatus for calculating the correction factor of the present invention may include: a factor part which acquires first data showing a factor value according to the energy window amplitude and activity of a first radiation source, and acquires second data showing a coincidence value according to the energy window amplitude and activity of a second radiation source; and a calculation part which calculates the correction factor to correct the difference of the coincidence values of the second radiation source generated according to emission of a single gamma photon of the first radiation source, on the basis of the first data and the second data.
