The invention provides a dust collecting filter for a fan, which is capable of cleaning indoor air faster compared with the prior art. The dust collecting filter has: a cylindrical side filter portion having a round cross section and provided with an installing opening portion for being installed to a safety protection part of a home fan at the windward side end portion; and a front filter portion for blocking the leeward side end portion of the side filter portion, wherein a dust collecting active area of combining the side filter portion and the front filter portion together is set to be more than 1800 cm2 and no more than 4000 cm2 when a blade diameter of the fan is 30 cm, and average wind velocity of air flow blown from the side filter portion is faster than average wind velocity of air flow blown from the front filter portion. |
