PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel comonomer providing an unsaturated group which becomes an origin for production of a copolymer with unsaturated rubber in an isobutylene copolymer for improving grip characteristics of a tread part of a tire and a manufacturing method of the copolymer containing the comonomer.SOLUTION: The problem is solved by an isobutylene copolymer having an isobutylene structure unit and a structural unit represented by the formula (2), where R1 and R2 are each independently H or a C3 or less alkyl group and the total number of carbon atoms of R1 and R2 is 3 to 5.
