PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorption heat pump system and a cold generation method capable of efficiently generating cold.SOLUTION: A heat pump 12 comprises: a first adsorber 20 adsorbing an adsorbate of an evaporator/condenser 14 to generate cold in the evaporator/condenser 14; and a second adsorber 22 adsorbing an adsorbate adsorbed by the first adsorber 20 to generate cold in the first adsorber 20. The first adsorber 20 adsorbs the adsorbate of the evaporator/condenser 14 to generate the cold in the evaporator/condenser 14, and the second adsorber 22 adsorbs the adsorbate of the first adsorber 20 to generate the cold in the first adsorber 20.
