PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of suppressing the influence of air leakage on a seal portion between a sensor element and a housing, thereby improving detection accuracy.SOLUTION: A gas sensor 1 comprises: a sensor element 2 that includes a solid electrolyte body 21, a measurement electrode 22, and a reference electrode 23; a housing 3 into which the sensor element 2 is inserted; and an element cover 4 provided on a tip end of the housing 3. The element cover 4 includes an inner cover 41 provided to cover a tip end portion of the sensor element 2 from outside; and an outer cover 42 provided to cover the inner cover 41 from outside. If it is defined that an axial length between a proximal end 401 of an inner space 40 of the inner cover 41 and a proximal end of the measuring electrode 22 is L, an axial length M between the proximal end 401 of the inner space 40 of the inner cover 41 and a proximal end of an inner vent hole 5 closest to the proximal end among inner vent holes 5 provided in the inner cover 41 is 0.2L to 0.65L. |
