PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device and a control method for the same that can perform correction to sufficiently reducing dark current noise without losing a next exposure imaging shutter chance.SOLUTION: A solid-state image pickup device 100 has a photoelectric conversion unit in which plural photoelectric conversion membranes 3A, 3B are laminated and disposed on a semiconductor substrate 6, and a light shielding membrane 4 disposed on the photoelectric conversion membrane 3B which is near to the surface of at least the semiconductor substrate 6 out of the plural photoelectric conversion membranes 3A, 3B.
