A vertical separator (10) for the treatment of slurry. The vertical separator (10) comprises: a screen device (14), with a vertical axis (Z), provided with a screen (15); - a feeding device (11, 12, 13, 18), provided with a pump (12), to feed the slurry to a screen device (14); - a discharge device (20, 23) for the liquid part; and - a discharge device (21, 22) for the solid particles. The screen device (14) houses a counter-pressing device (16) (e.g. a screw (16)), which is designed to generate a reaction, which partially counters the pushing action exerted by the pump (12) upon the slurry. |
