PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt retractor which enables improvement of energy absorption characteristics and restraint capability, and to provide a seat belt device.SOLUTION: A seat belt retractor includes: a spool 2 which takes up a webbing W for restraining an occupant; a shaft 3 inserted into an axis center of the spool 2; a locking base 4 which is connected with the shaft 3 and switches the shaft 3 between a rotation state and a non-rotation state; a load adjustment member 5 which is disposed between the shaft 3 and the locking base 4 and interrupts or reduces load transmission when a load larger than or equal to a threshold value is applied to the shaft 3; and an energy absorber 6 which is disposed between the spool 2 and the locking base 4 and changes an energy absorption amount according to a speed of relative rotation between the spool 2 and the locking base 4. The energy absorber 6 is connected in parallel with the load adjustment member 5. |
