According to the present invention, a memory card identification device, and a host device and a memory card using the same are disclosed. The memory card identification device comprises: a card socket having a structure into which at least two types of memory cards can be inserted through one card slot, and having a target port arranged therein wherein the target port touches in correspondence to one type of a target memory card based on difference of appearance features between at least two types of memory cards; and a card type detection unit determining the type of a memory card inserted into the card socket by using a touch state signal of the target port.
