PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR device capable of suppressing the strain of a shaft at a time of press-fitting the shaft into a hole formed in a valve body.SOLUTION: An EGR device comprises: a valve body 7 adjusting a degree of opening of an EGR flow passage 5 returning part of exhaust gas from an exhaust flow passage of an engine to an intake flow passage; and a shaft 9 having a tip end portion 9a press-fitted into a through-hole 20 formed in the valve body 7 and welded to the valve body 7. The portion of the shaft 9 press-fitted into the through-hole 20 is a column and the shaft 9 revolves about an axis of this column, thereby revolving the valve body 7 and adjusting the degree of opening of the EGR flow passage 5. A cross-sectional shape of the through-hole 20 perpendicular to the axis is elliptical. It is thereby possible to reduce a contact part between an inner wall of the through-hole 20 and the shaft 9 and reduce a press-fitting force at a time of press-fitting the shaft 9 into the through-hole 20. It is, therefore, possible to suppress the strain of the shaft 9 at a time of press-fitting the shaft 9 into the through-hole 20 formed in the valve body 7. |
