The present invention relates to a device and a method for controlling an engine of a mild hybrid vehicle, which allows the vehicle to be driven by using an HSG while stopping the operation of the engine at an operation point, where the efficiency of the engine is low, optimizes the engine operation area, and improves fuel efficiency. That is, the present invention aims to provide a device and a method for controlling the engine of a mild hybrid vehicle, which can realize the optimization of engine operation and improve fuel efficiency by avoiding starting the engine through a fuel cut during low-load engine operation (an operation point where the operation efficiency of the engine is low), where the demanded output of the vehicle is lower than a certain level compared with the total output, and letting the vehicle driven by a single operation of the HSG for starting the engine. |
