PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline secondary battery which prevents rupture of a battery more securely and achieves excellent safety compared to conventional alkaline secondary batteries.SOLUTION: A nickel hydrogen secondary battery 2 includes: a bottomed cylindrical exterior can 10 which has an opening at an upper end; an electrode group 22 which is housed in the exterior can 10 with an alkaline electrolyte; and a sealing body 11 which seals the opening of the exterior can 10. The sealing body 11 includes: a lid plate 14 having a center through hole 16; and a valve body 18 which is disposed at a position that closes the center through hole 16. The valve body 18 is made of an elastic material and has a hollow part 19. |
