Provided is a side air bag device that is arranged in a space between a vehicle body and a rear seat and has improved rigidity of mounting onto a vehicle body member. Provided between a vehicle body and a rear seat, a side air bag device (S) is provided with: a base member (20) having a base storage section (24) for storing an air bag (10) and an inflator (11), and a base mounting section (21a) mounted onto the vehicle body; and a retainer member (30) for retaining the base storage section (24) from a vehicle body rear side. The retainer member (30) extends out while bending so as to follow the shape of the vehicle body from a portion where the base storage section (24) is retained, and is mounted onto the vehicle body along with the base mounting section (21a) in a state of being superimposed onto the base mounting section (21a). |
