<p>[29] An apparatus (100, 300A) for generating discrete-time samples of a sinusoidal waveform comprises: an output line (3C, 3E) for providing output samples of a sinusoid that are discrete in time and in value; a plurality of processing branches (110, 120; 115, 125) coupled to the output line; a first input line for setting a frequency of the sinusoid; and a second input line for setting an initial state in at least one of said processing branches, wherein each of said processing branches operates at a subsampled rate, and generates an output sequence at said subsampled rate which represents a different subsampling phase of a complete, full- rate sinusoidal sequence in accordance with a value provided on said second input line, and wherein each said processing branch operates independently of the other processing branches and produces subsampled outputs. In some embodiments each of said processing branches includes a recursive digital filter (110, 120), in others each of said processing branches includes a phase accumulator (27A, 25A; 27B, 25B ) and a sine lookup table (29A, 29B).</p> |
