Disclosed is an operation controlling method for a fuel cell system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the operation controlling method for the fuel cell system comprises the following steps: determining a water shortage state in a fuel cell stack based on a thermal condition of the fuel cell stack or a condition with reduced cooling performance in the fuel cell stack; classifying a diagnosis level of the fuel cell system depending on the determined condition; and performing a recovery operation upon the selection of at least one recovery operation mode corresponding to the classified diagnosis level. |
