The present invention relates to a composition for improving brain function containing, as an active ingredient, a rice bran extract. Specifically, the present invention relates to a composition for improving brain function that contains, as an active ingredient, a rice bran extract obtained by extracting rice bran with 1 to 100% (v/v) of ethanol, thereby exhibiting an effect of inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, a food containing the composition, and a method for preparing the composition. According to the present invention, a composition or food for improving brain function being highly effective in inhibiting acetylcholinesterase can be prepared. These are particularly beneficial for those, such as examinees and office workers, who require active brain functions. In addition, according to the present invention, high value products can be obtained with rice, so consumption of rice is promoted and there is great benefit for farm families growing rice. |
