PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in association with closed contact of an original document pressing section with an original platen glass when a cover is rotated while securing closed contact of an original document with the original platen glass.SOLUTION: There is provided an image reading device comprising: an ADF section 27 rotating in an openable/closable manner with respect to an image reading surface 36; an original document pressing section 62 having a sheet-like member 64 capable of being brought into contact with the image reading surface 36, an elastic member 66 bonded to the sheet-like member 64 and a reinforcement member 68 being bonded to an opposite side of the elastic member 66 to the sheet-like member 64 and reinforcing the elastic member 66 and pressing an original document placed on the image reading surface 36 in a state of the ADF section 27 being closed; and fixing members 70a and 70b having elasticity and serving as fixing sections fixing the reinforcement member 68 to the ADF section 27. When the ADF section 27 is opened, the fixing member 70b has an elongation amount less than that of the fixing member 70a, and a corner side of the sheet-like member 64 is separated from the image reading surface 36 ahead of a center side thereof at a free end side of the ADF section 27. |
