PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a rail gloss face and to reduce load of a measurer during measurement.SOLUTION: As measurement means for measuring a gloss face of a rail 60, a measuring apparatus of a rail gloss face includes: illumination means 20 for illuminating a top surface 61 and a gage corner 62 of the rail 60; observation means 30 for observing a range illuminated by the illumination means 20 to detect intensity of light reflected at the top surface 61 and the gage corner 62; and gloss face detection means (a control device 14) for detecting a range of the gloss face at the top surface 61 and the gage corner 62 on the basis of observation result by the observation means 30.
