PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element capable of ensuring power consumption saving and excellent A/F detection accuracy.SOLUTION: A gas sensor element 1 comprises a cup-shaped solid electrolyte body 10, a measurement electrode 20, a reference electrode 30, and a porous layer 40. In an atmospheric chamber 11 inside of the solid electrolyte body 10, a heater 50 is disposed so as to contact a bottom 11a of the atmospheric chamber 11. If it is defined that a length of a heating portion 51 of the heater 50 in an axial direction Y is A and a length of the measurement electrode 20 in the axial direction Y is B, the lengths A and B satisfy a relation of 0.07≤B/A≤1. In an area S from a position 2 mm away from the heating portion 51 in a direction of a proximal end side Y2 to a tip end side, a weight WB of the porous layer 40 is 0.60 g to 0.85 g and a weight WA of the heater 50 is 0.19 g to 0.25 g. |
