Example embodiments generally relate to Wi-Fi networks, IEEE 802.11x, Social Wi-Fi networks and Neighbor-Awareness Networking (NAN).

receiving, by a first device, one or more fine timing measurement (FTM) requests; transmitting, by the first device, a service discovery frame (SDF) indicating an intent to respond to the one or more fine timing measurement (NM) requests; transitioning, by the first device, to a channel to perform a FTM flow, and receiving, by the first device, one or more FTM frames sent by one or more devices.
