PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel control apparatus enabling travel of a vehicle itself appropriately in a case where a lost state occurs, in which a preceding vehicle cannot be detected.SOLUTION: In a state where article detection means 10 detects a preceding vehicle X, a vehicular speed of a vehicle itself 2 is controlled using a detection value of a preceding-vehicle state (position, vehicular speed) by preceding-vehicle state detection means 15; whereas in a lost state in which the preceding vehicle X cannot be detected, a vehicular speed of the vehicle itself 2 is controlled using an estimation value of the preceding-vehicle state by lost preceding-vehicle state estimation means 22, under a necessary condition where a length of a travel-scheduled route of the vehicle itself 2 in a detection target range of the article detection means 10 is smaller than a given threshold. |
