PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jack that is easily applicable to electronic equipment adopting a design in which the outer edge portion of a housing is formed in an arcuate or tapered shape.SOLUTION: A jack has a housing 4 having a plug insertion portion 41 in which a plug is inserted, and plural contacts 5 to 8 held at the side portion of the housing 4. The housing 4 is formed so that a lower back portion 42 and a rear side 43 thereof form a step, and has lower-back contacts 5, 6 disposed at the side portion of the lower back portion 42, and a contact 7 which also serves as a holding spring disposed at the side portion of the rear stage portion 43 of the housing 4. The lower-back contact 5, 6 has a fixed piece portion fixed to the side portion of the lower back portion 42, a fold-back portion which is folded back from the upper edge of the fixed piece portion, and an elastic contact portion extending obliquely laterally downwards from the fold-back portion, and a contact formed integrally with the tip of the elastic contact portion. The contact projects from the bottom side of the lower back portion 42 to the plug insertion portion 41. |
