PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission device or image transmission method for enabling a user to perform control to allow a display device of a transmission destination not to display a predetermined image or a part of the image.SOLUTION: An image transmission device (a portable terminal 10) includes: an image data buffer (130) configured to store past image data; an image data transmission control section (a control section 100) configured to perform control to transmit not image data being displayed in a display section but past image data before a predetermined time among the past image data stored in the image data buffer; and a data transmission section (110) configured to transmit the image data to an external apparatus (a display device 20).
