A method for producing a multilayer material (30), which provides a good layer fraction and is capable of suppressing problems caused by moisture absorption of a transparent resin layer that is formed using an aqueous resin composition in cases where the multilayer material is left under high-temperature high-humidity conditions for a long period of time. This method for producing a multilayer material (30) comprises: a step for forming a first transparent resin layer (7) on a base (26); and a step for forming a second transparent resin layer (12) directly on the first transparent resin layer (7). The step for forming the first transparent resin layer (7) is a step wherein an organic solvent-based resin composition is applied over the base (26). The step for forming the second transparent resin layer (12) is a step wherein an aqueous resin composition, which contains an ammonium salt of a monomer having an acid group or an ammonium salt of a resin having an acid group, is applied.
