PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a glass plate that suppresses a warp and a strain of a glass plate, while keeping the width of a central region of the glass plate by suppressing shrinkage of an edge part toward the central region in the width direction.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a glass plate includes a molding step of molding a glass plate from molten glass using a down-draw method and a cooling step of cooling the glass plate so as to suppress shrinkage of an edge part of the glass plate toward a central region. The glass plate has the central region in the width direction sandwiched between both edge parts in the width direction. A pair of rollers having each spiral groove is installed so as to cover the edge part at the position facing the edge part having a predetermined thickness corresponding to the thickness of the central region in the width direction. One of the pair of rollers has a clockwise groove, while the other of the pair of rollers has a counterclockwise groove. The clockwise groove and the counterclockwise groove sandwich the edge part, and the pair of rollers is rotated to make the edge part thinner and cool the edge part while sending the edge part to the outside in the width direction. |
