Provided is an instrument, comprising: a rod-shaped probe which configures a first electrode for causing a high-frequency current to flow into a biological tissue and through which ultrasound oscillations are transmitted, said probe further comprising a first surface which carries out an incision of the biological tissue with the ultrasound oscillations, a second surface which carries out a coagulation of the biological tissue, and an insulation part which covers the first surface; and a jaw which configures a second electrode for causing the high-frequency current to flow into the biological tissue and is capable of engaging with and separating from the probe, said jaw further comprising a third surface which faces the first surface when engaged, and a fourth surface which faces the second surface when engaged. |
