PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake device where freezing can be reliably prevented by a simple configuration without releasing braking force in a parked state.SOLUTION: An electric brake device includes an electric motor 2, a braking force load mechanism 4, a lock mechanism 5, a temperature sensor 6, and freeze-prevention energizing means 7. The lock mechanism 5 has a linear solenoid 30 for switching a lock pin 29 into a lock state to drive it against urging force by the urging means. The freeze-prevention energizing means 7 controls to begin supplying electrical power to the linear solenoid 30 if the temperature sensor 6 detects pre-freezing temperature T1 set for the electric brake device, when the braking force load mechanism 4 is exerting the braking force and the lock mechanism 5 is in the lock state. The freeze-prevention energizing means 7 cuts off electric conduction to the linear solenoid 30 when detected temperature of the temperature sensor 6 exceeds set temperature T2 by energizing the linear solenoid 30. |
