PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation-resistant wire rope capable of improving torsional stiffness of a rope core and reducing rotation of the wire rope.SOLUTION: A wire rope 10 comprises: rope cores 1 formed by twisting multiple pieces of rope core strand 2 that is formed by twisting multiple element wires 3; and multiple side strands 5 that are formed by twisting multiple element wires 6 and twisted around the rope core 1. The rope core 1 is formed with a reduced diameter. A twisting direction in which the side strands 5 are twisted around the rope core 1 is an opposite direction against a twisting direction in which the rope core strands 2 are twisted with each other. |
