PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that suppresses image defects due to ghosting not only in a normal temperature and normal humidity environment but in a low temperature and low humidity environment, and a novel phthalocyanine crystal.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor of the present invention has such characteristics that a photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a phthalocyanine crystal containing N,N-dimethylformamide in the crystal and that the content of the N,N-dimethylformamide is 0.1 mass% or more and 1.5 mass% or less with respect to phthalocyanine in the phthalocyanine crystal.
