PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timing chain support structure capable of achieving the size reduction of a chain housing.SOLUTION: A chain shoe 11 in contact with an outer circumferential surface of a timing chain 8 revolving and moving to suppress the shaking of the timing chain 8 is provided within a chain housing 9. The chain shoe 11 is attached to a protrusion portion 15 formed between the outer circumferential surface of the timing chain 8 and an inner wall of an outer edge portion 12 of a first cover 9a of the chain housing 9. This attachment enables the chain shoe 11 to be positioned. A portion of the outer edge portion 12 corresponding to the chain shoe 11 is formed to protrude toward the outer circumferential surface of the timing chain 8, whereby the portion acts as a support portion 17 in contact with a back surface of the chain shoe 11. When the revolving and moving timing chain 8 presses the chain shoe 11 in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the timing chain 8 outward, the support portion 17 receives a pressing force. |
