PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid easily separating from a catalyst after a reaction and capable of efficiently manufacturing 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid from 5-hydroxymethylfurfural.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid including oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural by a catalyst in a presence of a compound (I) represented by the formula (I-1) and (I-2) and a nitrate ion in a mixing solvent containing an organic solvent having saturation solubility of 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid at 30°C of 1 mass% or less and solubility to water of 10 mL at 25°C of 0.5 mL or more and water and having mass ratio of water to the organic solvent [water/organic solvent] of 0.10 to 3. |
