PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which allows the setting of the range of amplitude control by a knee lifter.SOLUTION: The minimum value and the maximum value of the amount of amplitude of a needle 62 are set by an amplitude range setting device 9. When a sewing machine is operated, and if the minimum value of the amount of amplitude set by the amplitude range setting device 9 is a value of more than 0, zigzag movement is performed with the amount of amplitude of the minimum value in a state without the operation of a knee lifter 2 (the amount of operation is zero). If the minimum value is 0, and if the amount of operation of the knee lifter 2 is zero, the amount of amplitude of the needle 62 is set to 0, and the zigzag movement is not performed. Then, sewing is performed while the needle 62 is swung according to the amount of operation of the knee lifter 2. When the maximum value is changed by the amplitude range setting device 9 during the sewing operation of the sewing machine, zigzag sewing is performed according to the amount of amplitude of the changed maximum value. |
