摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the degradation of emission resulting from fault learning of a reference crank angle representing the most retarded position of an intake VVT mechanism.SOLUTION: In controlling an internal combustion engine equipped with a VVT mechanism capable of varying intake valve timing, if it is sensed that learning of a reference crank angle is executed in a state in which the intake valve timing does not return to most retarded timing, the reference crank angle is gradually changed so that a difference increases between a rotation angle of a crankshaft when an intake valve timing signal is output and the reference crank angle in subsequent control.
