PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device having a simple structure and capable of reducing light leaking to the inside of a through-hole and efficiently lighting and a watch including the same.SOLUTION: An illuminating device includes: a luminous element 22; a light guiding plate 23 provided with a through-hole 25 into which a pointer shaft for causing a pointer to move is inserted and taking light of the luminous element 22 inside thereof so as to be emanated from an upper surface which is one surface of the pointer side, while being guided to the surface direction; and a light diffusion layer 26 provided on the inner peripheral surface of the through-hole 25 of the light guide plate 23. Thus, when the light of the luminous element 22 is guided by the light guide plate 23 to arrive at the through-hole 25, the arrived light can be diffused by the light diffusion layer 26, and the leakage of the light into the through-hole 25 can be reduced, and the diffused light can be guided to the opposite side of the through-hole 25 with respect to the luminous element 22. As a result, the light of the luminous element 22 can be guided substantially to the whole area of the light guide plate 23 and this enables the upper surface side of the light guide plate 23 to be efficiently illuminated. |
