PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing the formation of deposits despite the repeated exposure of a tip end portion in which an injection hole is present to high-temperature flue gas.SOLUTION: A nozzle includes a conical projection 23 on an outer wall surface of a nozzle body 3, and an injection hole 11 includes an outer opening 11b on a top portion 23a of the projection 23. The outer wall surface around an opening edge 11be is thereby inclined conically. Owing to this, a vector of a surface tension &sgr;a acting on fuel in a direction of a solid-gas interface out of a surface tension &sgr; acting on the fuel in the opening edge 11be contains a component of force in a direction opposite to a fuel leaking direction, so that leakage of the fuel from the nozzle hole 11 is suppressed. As a result, it is possible to suppress the formation of deposits despite the repeated exposure of a tip end portion in which the injection hole 11 is present to high-temperature flue gas. |
