A method and device for acquiring new version information of application software, the method comprising the following steps: acquiring the application information of application software installed by a plurality of terminals; according to the obtained application information of the application software, determining the latest version of the same application software installed on the different terminals; further determining whether the number of the installed application software of the latest version satisfies a preset requirement; if so, then determining that the version information corresponding to the application software of the latest version is the new version information of the application software. The technical solution is suitable for both an operating system having only one application market and the operating system having a plurality of application markets, and acquires the application information of the application software from the users thereof via an application market client so as to determine the new version information of the application software. |
