PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner improved in disinfection or sterilization effect of the surface of an air filter.SOLUTION: An air conditioner is provided with a function of disinfecting or sterilizing the surface of an air filter built in an inner machine by ultraviolet light, includes a dust removal part moving relatively to the air filter to remove dust adhering to the surface of the air filter, and an ultraviolet irradiation part applying the ultraviolet light to the air filter from which the dust is removed by the dust removal part, and alternately performs dust removal and ultraviolet irradiation.
