1,007,693. Ceramic to metal seals; welding by pressure. TETRA A.B. April 29, 1964 [May 16, 1963; March 5, 1964], No. 17752/64. Drawings to Specification. Headings B3R and B3V. Metal strips are secured to the surface of a sintered metal oxide ceramic layer having heat and electricity insulating properties by pressing them into contact with the surface while they are electrically heated to a high temperature; in a modification, the metal oxide layer may first be coated with a metal such as nickel. The invention is stated to be useful for the mounting of heat-sealing strips of a Ni-Fe alloy on the jaws of presses for heat-sealing plastic materials. |
