PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage power consumption of a cable dock according to power management policy of a notebook PC.SOLUTION: A notebook PC 10 is connected to a cable dock 100 which extends a function of the PC by a cable 102. The notebook PC holds a power management standard including a cable dock. The power management standard defines parameters, such as a power source mode which consists of a combination of AC power sources 81 and 181 and DC power sources 83 and 183, rated capacity, residual capacity, and power consumption of a system, and a power level indicating a degree of power saving. The notebook PC applies a status value of acquired parameters to the power management standard to identify the power level, and allows the cable dock to perform a power-saving operation. |
