A method for preparing an aqueous composition including at least one pigment may include: combining the at least one pigment, at least one cold-water-soluble modified starch, and water. A process for preparing a solid dispersion of pigment in granular form may include: mixing at least one pigment, at least one cold-water-soluble modified starch, and water to form a paste; and/or grinding the paste and evaporating at least part of the water to obtain the solid dispersion. A process for using at least one cold-water-soluble modified starch may include: preparing a solid dispersion of pigment in granular form by combining at least one pigment, the at least one cold-water-soluble modified starch, and water; and/or using the at least one cold-water-soluble modified starch as a carrier agent in the solid dispersion. |
