The present invention relates to a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device. The backlight unit includes a substrate, at least one light emitting diode chip located on the substrate, an encapsulation layer encapsulating the light emitting diode chip, and a multilayer film formed on the encapsulation layer and including two or more material layers having different refractive indexes. Therefore, the backlight unit may have an enlarged angle of beam spread. |
