<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge control agent containing as an active ingredient an aromatic oxycarboxylic acid metal compound which has high fastness and improved compatibility, is fast in startup of charging when used for controlling charging and is capable of exhibiting excellent charging characteristics and being easily produced. <P>SOLUTION: The charge control agent contains as an active ingredient an aromatic oxycarboxylic acid metal compound which is obtained by converting at least one kind of aromatic oxycarboxylic acids represented by the following chemical formula (1) (wherein, A is an alkyl group and B is a benzyloxy group which may contain an alkyl chain or A is a benzyloxy group which may contain an alkyl chain and B is an alkyl group, and M<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is any one selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an ammonium atom group and a mixture thereof) into a metal complex and/or a metal salt whose X-ray diffraction spectrum shows an amorphous state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
