<p>An auger cradle device 104 comprises a cradle element 116 for bearing against a ground auger 96 and/or a rotational drive unit 94, a cradle connector 118 for pivotably connecting the cradle element 116 to or adjacent to an auger mounting 10 of the auger hitch device 30, and releasable locking means 102 for locking the cradle element 116 to prevent pivotable movement relative to the auger mounting 92 and, when released, for enabling pivotable movement of the cradle element 116 relative to the auger mounting 92.
