<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve circularity of glass substrates to a necessary level when a plurality of glass substrates for magnetic disk are manufactured from a stack of a plurality of plate-like glasses. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the glass substrates for magnetic disk includes a stack preparation process of preparing the stack of a plurality of plate-like glasses; and a grinding process of grinding the stack by moving an integrated core drill, having a large-diameter cylindrical outer peripheral grinding grindstone and a small-diameter cylindrical inner peripheral grinding grindstone arranged coaxially, in the stacking direction of the stack while rotating the integrated core drill on its axis and supplying a grinding liquid to an outer peripheral grinding surface formed as the outer peripheral grinding grindstone and plate-like glasses come into contact with each other and an inner peripheral grinding surface formed as the inner-peripheral grinding grindstone and plate-like glasses come into contact with each other, the rotating direction of the core drill and the supply direction of the grinding liquid to the outer peripheral grinding surface being adjusted so as to draw in the grinding liquid to the outer peripheral grinding surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
