摘要 <p>The present invention concerns a device for generating electrical energy, comprising at least one cell including supporting base means (1, 2, 3; 12; 23), characterised in that said at least one cell further comprises a first number N of first segments (4) made of a first material having a first Seebeck coefficient, and a second number M of second segments (5) made of a second material having a second Seebeck coefficient, where M > 1 and N = M+l, the first segments (4) and the second segments (5) being supported by said supporting base means (1, 2, 3; 12; 23) and being electrically connected alternately in series, whereby M first junctions (6), between a first segment (4) and a second segment (5), and M second junctions (7), be¬ tween a second segment (5) and a first segment (4), are alternately formed on said supporting base means (1, 2, 3; 12; 23), the first material and the second material being selected from the group of materials comprising electrically conductive materials and electrically semiconductor materials, each one of said M second junctions (7) having a surface nanostructure having one or more portions of periodic nanostructure each one of which has a respective period ranging from 350 nanometers to 150 micrometers. The present invention further concerns a process for manufacturing such a device.</p>
